NEW ALBUM - OUT NOW!!!
Released February 2008:
Ebb and Flow
by Nelsons Wake (Chris & Siobhan Nelson and Barry Wake)
Ebb and Flow is a one-off 'trio' album of previously unrecorded original songs from the pen of Chris & Siobhan's long-time musical collaborator Barry Wake. Chris and Siobhan's live sets and albums usually include some of Barry's moving and thought-provoking songs; the addition of Barry's guitar and voice to the mix gives another dimension to Chris & Siobhan's performance.
Nelsons Wake = 2 Nelsons and a Wake (hence the lack of apostrophe)!

REVIEWS OF EBB AND FLOW:
"...evocative songs... Gently imaginative arrangements, excellent solo and harmony singing, accomplished musicianship... A thoroughly charming release" (fRoots, June 2008)
"The veritable song-writing talent of [Barry Wake]... [Siobhan's] utterly charming vocals... her voice at times exhibiting echoes of Maddy Prior... The instrumental accompaniment of Chris Nelson is always sympathetic to the material and a joy to listen to." (Mike Wilson, folking.com) - click here to read the full review.
"[the album is] chock-full of true craftsmanship in the writing and partnered by responsive and abundantly sensitive musicianship... Just under half of the songs are sung by Siobhan, beautifully and expressively and with exemplary diction... ...a most attractive collection of classy and satisfying songs that richly deserve to be heard (and sung) more widely." (David Kidman, NetRhythms) - click here to read the full review.

"A credible, intimate acoustic set, with Siobhan's powerful yet tender voice accompanied by Chris's sensitive fiddle/viola and mando/guitar. Enterprising selection of songs... One to savour and return to." fRoots (Oct. 2006 issue)
"[Chris's] imaginative combinations of instrumental timbres... [Siobhan's] moving, appealingly tender-sounding voice which can sometimes quite belie its very power... This is a quite exceptional CD, which manages the difficult feat of being both satisfyingly charming and thought-provoking in a way that doesnt need to shout at you but makes a more unassuming impact by virtue of its integrity, excellent taste and high-quality musicianship."
